Since French archaeologist De Morgan in early 20th century presented a brief report of excavations in pre-historic cemeteries around Namin, no other archaeological researches have been presented on the archaeology of this region and there is no clear understanding of the status of different historic and pre-historic periods. The first part of archaeological surveys of Namin was done in an area of about 1100 square kilometers in the eastern part of the plateau of Azerbaijan in 2015, during which 175 historical sites were identified. The results of fieldwork shows the presence of specific settlement patterns in Bronze and Iron Age by focusing on citadels and existence of vast cemeteries mostly containing burial of megalithic forms. In the study area apart from historical sites a number of Islamic sites also were identified. %U https://jarcs.ut.ac.ir/article_68542_14f664c8af6cabaa4a6e8620b740f977.pdf
